Freisenbrucher secure three important points against Holsterhausen

The team from the Waldstadion went into the match against TuS Holsterhausen on the 27th matchday with high expectations for themselves. Top priority: Secure three points against the twelfth in the standings and expand the home series in Bergmannsbusch. With a narrow but deserved 2-1 success, the team of head coach Peter Schäfer manages to establish itself on sixth place in the table. With 45 points, the lead over their direct rivals SF Niederwenigern II three games before the end of the season now amounts to a solid five points.

For the Freisenbrucher, Issa, Feind, Schwager, Brangenberg and Yogarathnam, Ibrahim, Schadhof, Zang, Feld, Peus and Parakenings as well as Tim Stränger competed. As substitutes Thomas, Basel and Antonio were used in the course of the Apiels.

A great combination gave the home team the early lead already in the first minutes: Maurice Peus hit for his team after the ball in midfield over three stations very worth seeing was finally put down on the sixteenth him. 1-0 for the TC Freisenbruch after seven minutes - a start made to measure for the landlords.

In the further course of the first half, both teams were able to record goal chances, with the more compelling goal-area scenes definitely on the side of the Freisenbrucher. The team left no doubt that they wanted to win the trio in their home stadium and send their opponents home with empty bags. Nevertheless, the TC did not manage to increase their lead even further before the break, so that they entered the half-time break with a narrow 1-0 lead.

Shortly after the restart the coach duo decided to make the first change to Elosgé and Schäfer. For Parakenings, Colin Thomas was a fresh force in the game, which should exert even more pressure to the front (62.). At first, however, the hosts had to accept the equal score at 1-1: After a throw-in, Joel Feld tried to clear the ball in his own sixteenth ball and unfortunately faked it into his own goal. With the own goal the Freisenbrucher made life difficult for themselves, since they had not succeeded before in making the score clearer.

Now another Freisenbrucher goal had to be scored to keep the trio in the bush. The coaching team reacted again and brought Heiko Basel for Tim Stränger (74.) and shortly after Sami Antonio for Aiman Ibrahim (80.).

Despite other free-breaker scoring chances, including a remarkable free-kick from the left, which the opposing goalkeeper just over the crossbar, the redeeming victory scored late. With the last substitution, Elosgé and Schäfer once again proved the right feeling: In the 86th minute of the match, it was the newly substituted Antonio who not only brought his team back into the lead with his goal to 2-1, but also secured the victory and the three points that were so enormously important for the home team (86th). Antonio turned the ball he had put through from the half-field from the turn confidently and in classic attacking style, leaving the Holsterhausen goalkeeper no chance.

Bottom line: a safe, albeit close threesome, which the Freisenbrucher fought for on the 27th matchday in the final spurt of the Kreisliga season.
