Head coach Schäfer: Interview before the 21st matchday

In the matchday interview Schäfer appeals once again to the honour of his troop: against Mintard finally the first away victory should be. The Mülhiemer opponent should not be underestimated under any circumstances...

Hello Peter! The next game for you is against the Mülheimer Team Blau Weiß Mintard. The Mintard team are currently last in the standings and have only just been able to clinch a victory. The optimal way to finally burst the node outwards?

We already had numerous possibilities and unfortunately haven't made it yet. Although we have already played good away games. Sunday we want to try it again, of course.

You already stressed in the last interview that it is a question of honour for you to finally show it to everyone. Does your team see it the same way?

I hope so. Anyone who doesn't see themselves packed in honour in this series is wrong on the football pitch.

What are your strengths against Mintard, what are your advantages?

I have a feeling we're in a pretty good mood. The training participation was also good this week. We will definitely be well prepared, but of course we don't want to reveal our orientation now. Moreover, it's only Sunday that our online managers decide who to send to the field.

We must be prepared for that!

Shepherds on the Mintarder's relegation battle situation

In view of your opponent, who is already in the middle of an acute relegation battle, do you expect a match with a strong emphasis on combat?

We have to be prepared for this. If the Mintarder still believes in their chance, they're gonna have to blow it all out. Of course we have to be prepared for that.

What is your current personnel situation?

Unfortunately, we thought so often that the personnel situation would relax and then had to put up with short-term cancellations again, so I don't want to lean so far out of the window. However, we have to report 5-6 outages, which is equivalent to a luxury situation in the course of the season. That's why I'm optimistic, as I was last time. On Tuesday in training Kevin Maskow (thigh) and Oliver Machon (knee) said goodbye prematurely. We will probably have to do without them for a few weeks.

There are a lot of players available at the moment, but in the last weeks you have often complained about the training participation. Has anything already changed in this respect after your announcement?

This week it was very crowded on the training ground and some guys even did some voluntary joint additional units.

For you the constellation on Sunday can only be a threesome. BW Mintard is known to be good for surprises, so you've already experienced it for yourself in the past season. Now how do you go into the game?

Naturally one thinks now in the forefront of this game also of the last game against this opponent. And also in this context it will be a question of honour to deliver a good game on Sunday.
